Nebraska Emergency management Agency - FREE CERT training

Event Details:

CERT training covers important basic skills that are valuable to know in a disaster when emergency services are not available. With training and practice, and by working as a team, you will be able to protect yourself and maximize your capability to help for the greatest number of people during and after a disaster. Participants will learn about:

 

• Disaster Preparedness

• Team Organization

• Disaster Medical Operations

• Psychological First Aid

• Fire Safety and Utility Controls

• Light Search and Rescue

• Terrorism / Active Killer Events

 

Training times & location:

College of Public Affairs & Community Service Building, Room # 132D, Omaha NE

Wednesday, July 9 & Thursday, July 10   8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa is interested in hosting the Certified Healthcare Emergency Coordinator (CHEC) basic and advanced course on August 5-7, 2025.  CHEC Basic is a 2-day course that would be immediately followed by CHEC Advanced, a 1-day course. 2025 Nebraska Antimicrobial Stewardship Summit

Friday, May 30th | Lincoln, NE | 7:30am- 4:00pm

This summit is designed for health care professionals committed to advancing antimicrobial stewardship through evidence-based strategies. This summit will address key challenges and provide insights on antimicrobial practices, fostering facility-wide engagement, and improving patient outcomes.

The summit will feature a general session open to all attendees. In addition, a special track—Long-Term Care (LTC) Fundamentals in Antibiotic Stewardship—will be offered for those specifically interested in this focus area. Please indicate whether you plan to attend the general session or the LTC track during registration.

The summit is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with peers in advancing the critical work of antimicrobial stewardship in health care.
